Current Bunnies

This is the page where we will post pictures of our current rabbits, pets and breeding stock alike. None of these will likely be for sale, but you will be able to see the quality of the rabbits we breed from. We included some pictures of our pet rabbits, the rabbits which gave us the passion to pursue breeding, to show you how loving and adorable pet rabbits can be.

"Patches" Chilli: Mother of the Rabbitry

Chilli was given to us by Kirsty Prince from Patches Rabbitry dubbo (http://patches-rabbit-stud.webs.com/) where she mothers many a successful litter. Chilli is what is known as a BUD or Big Ugly Doe, a term used to describe a large female rabbit which is used as a brood doe, as she will have little difficulty passing kits and having larger litters. She is the founding member of our group and was originally bred to Edward a lovely typed buck who became a mini celebrity in the breeding and showing world. Even though she will most likely only be used in the one breeding to add to extension (e) and wide band (w) genes to the gene pool and will not be used to further the quality of the offspring she will be kept on as a potential foster parent, as it is known she is an excellent mother.

Tiberius: The clever one

Tiberius was the first bunny we ever got. We collected him from a registered breeder, Obsidian Rabbit Stud, in Goulburn. Tiberius, while from good stock, did not have all the neccessary qualities of a show rabbit, but to us he was still gorgeous (see baby pictures below) and we just had to get him. By the time we got him he could fit in the palm of our hand and was the most adorable thing we'd ever seen. He was a very adventurous and intelligent creature, constantly bobbing his head to survey his enviroment. He quickly formulated escape plans from his original housing arrangement, causing us to have to build a new hutch for him so that he couldnt continue to break loose. While this intelligence made him a brat sometimes, it also allowed me to easily train him a number of different tricks. To this day Tiberius can preform on verbal command:

  • Come

  • Stand

  • Walk (on back legs)

  • Spin (both directions)

  • Push a ball in a direction on command

  • return to his cage on command

  • kisses

He is a lovely bunny, and while not as openly loving as Lyra, he will always come up for pats and nosebumps with the occasional kiss. He will also follow you around the house as well as try to invade the bathroom if you try to use the toilet. Luckily his unfounded fear of tiles touching his feet stops him from entering the bathroom, but he gives you a good stare from the door. He's my little baby, and I love him for all the joy he has given, and will give me in times to come.

Tiberius is now lovingly looked after by Steph in sydney.

Generation 1: Odin, Pork Bun and Eru

Odin (left) and pork bun (right) are the first boys bred by our rabbitry. Odin is a ferocious licker, and loves to groom and give kisses, as well as being a cheeky yet obediant rabbit, pushing boundaries but quickly does whatever we tell him to once caught.

Pork bun is less kissy, but loves to be patted. He does have a strange addiction to pillow cases however. But he is a lovely affectionate and submissive soul always happy to be out with the family getting love.

Eru is a trickster, escaping from her cage at 4 weeks of age for the first time she has continued her skill at climbing. Our own furry spiderman can even hang from the top of her cage in her attempt to climb around. Once you pick her up though she will more than likely fall asleep while you stroke her, and if you give her the space she'll sprint around binkying. But always returns to check up on how you are doing/get a pat. Shes easily the most intelligent of the litter.
